    Artist In Residence Program 2023

    The purpose of this program is to discover young artists / printmakers who are active throughout the world and offer them a growing experience and an opportunity to create artwork in a communal atmosphere with other artists from different backgrounds.
    The program aims to further the friendship and understanding of art and different cultures between the artists and local communities through artworks and exchanges.

    Wanted the invitation artist in the 2023 fiscal year

    Invitation Program Outline for the Fiscal Year of 2023

    ◇Sponsorship and Operation

    This program is sponsored by the Akiruno City Education Board (ACEB) and operated by the Art Studio Itsukaichi Operation Committee (ASIOC).

    ◇Invited Artists

    Two Japanese artists and One foreign artist will be invited.

    ◇Period of Invitation

    The invitation period of the program is from September 1, 2023 to November 30, 2023 for a total of three months.

    ◇Terms and Conditions

     (1) Japanese Artist
      ① Hold a Japanese nationality and be under the age of 40 in principle.
      ② The ability for daily conversation in English and a good health condition.
      ③ Cooperation with the other invited artists in the course of collective.
     (2) Foreign Artist
      ① Hold nationality of a foreign country which has diplomatic relations with Japan and be under the age of 40 in principle.
      ② The ability for daily conversation in English and a good health condition.
      ③ Cooperation with the other invited artists in the course of collective life and artistic activities.

    ◇Support and Air fare and Living expenditure

    The invited artists will be supported in the following expenditure.
      (1) Paid total ¥ 255,000 for three months living expenditure.
      (2) Paid air fare for foreign artist at the maximum ¥ 120,000. This will be refunded after the artist's arrival.

    ◇Application Procedure

    (1) Artists who meet the above conditions may apply to the program by sending attached application form, CD-ROM or DVD-ROM of ten works in the form of JPEG, reference about the works to ACEB by June 15, 2023.
    (2) Letter of recommendation should be completed by a recommender, or by referable authorities, on the back of the form.

    ◇Selection and Notification

    Selection of the artists will be done by ASIOC. The notification along with other necessary documents and forms will be sent by June 30, 2023.

    ◇Contribution of Art works

    Invited artists will be asked to contribute more than two art works created during the residency as part of the ACEB collections. Works will be selected by ASIOC at the end of the program. All rights of collected works will be reserved to ACEB.

    ◇ Important Notes

    ASIOC will take out accident insurance for invited artists. Any uncovered accidents or sickness are responsible for Invited artists.
